Nyon.

Nyon sits on the northern shore of Lake Geneva, in the vineyard country of La Côte. The town has Roman roots, and traces of that history remain in the old town. Above the lake, the medieval castle looks out over the water toward the Alps.

The old town climbs in narrow streets lined with stone houses, opening onto small squares where a market sets up with regional produce and wine from the surrounding hillsides. Vineyards reach almost to the edge of town, part of the land that gives Vaud its wine character.

The lakeside promenade and gardens keep a calm rhythm, with boats on the water and views across to the French shore.
