Hermance.

Hermance sits on the eastern shore of Lake Geneva, in the canton of Geneva, right at the border with France. Behind its old stone ramparts, narrow cobbled streets lead between tall houses with wooden shutters and flower-filled window boxes. A small harbour opens onto the lake, used today by local sailing boats. The lake fills every view here. Vineyards grow on the slopes just outside the village, part of the Geneva wine region. A quiet lakeside path runs close to the water, shaded by old trees. Gardens along the main street fill with roses and climbing plants from late spring onward. Life in Hermance follows the rhythm of the lake: coffee by the harbour, a walk along the shore, evenings watching sailboats return as the light softens over the water.
