Oslip.

Oslip sits on the eastern slopes of the Leithagebirge, a range of low hills rising from the Pannonian plain west of Lake Neusiedl. The village belongs to Burgenland's wine country, where limestone and schist soils support small, family-run estates growing both red and white grapes. Vineyards climb the hillside above the houses, and several properties still pair winemaking with a wine tavern where growers serve their own vintages alongside simple local food.

The village itself keeps a working character: whitewashed farmhouses, cellar doors open at harvest time, and streets that give way quickly to open vineyard rows. Paths lead from the edge of the village up into the hills, connecting the vines to wooded ridges with views back across the plain toward the lake. Autumn brings the harvest and, with it, young Sturm wine served fresh in the local taverns.

Close to Eisenstadt yet set apart from it, Oslip holds the rhythm of a small wine village, built around cellar visits, tastings, and walks through the vines that shape its slopes.
