Bevagna is a perfectly preserved medieval town in the Umbrian valley, built on the site of the ancient Roman settlement of Mevania. The town's main square, Piazza Silvestri, showcases Romanesque churches and medieval architecture in an intimate setting. Bevagna is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves producing quality wines and oils. The town is famous for its Mercato delle Gaite festival in June, when residents recreate medieval life with traditional crafts and food. It offers an authentic glimpse into both ancient Roman heritage and medieval Umbrian culture.
