Vezzano sits in the Valle dei Laghi, the "valley of the lakes" that runs west from Trento toward the northern tip of Lake Garda. Once its own comune, it became part of Vallelaghi in 2016. The valley is defined by a chain of small lakes — among them Toblino and Santa Massenza — and by the Ora del Garda, a steady afternoon breeze off the lake that gives the area an unusually mild climate for the Alps.

That climate suits the vineyards on the surrounding slopes, best known for Nosiola grapes and the sweet Vino Santo Trentino, a passito wine the valley has made for generations. Days here move slowly: quiet lakeshores, walking and cycling paths between the vines, and the lakeside Castel Toblino on its small peninsula a short way down the valley. Vezzano makes an unhurried base between the city of Trento and Lake Garda.
