Terrasini sits on the Tyrrhenian coast west of Palermo, built around a small marina where fishing boats and rental boats share the same harbour wall. The town's identity is built on the sea: nets mended on the quay, and seafood sold straight from the boats to restaurants a few steps away. Inland, a market square and a scatter of artisan workshops keep older trades going.
Just outside town, the Capo Rama reserve covers a headland where paths follow the cliff edge above clear water, the Tyrrhenian on one side and open countryside on the other. Summer brings festivals and open-air markets to the main streets; the rest of the year, the town keeps the rhythm of a working fishing port.
