Sooß sits among the vineyards of the Thermenregion, the wine country south of Vienna known for its white wines. The village is small, with low farmhouses and wine cellars built into the hillsides. Vines cover the gentle hills around the settlement, laid out in rows that turn gold and red through autumn.

Local winemakers open their cellar doors for tastings, often pouring directly from the barrel alongside simple regional food. Paths climb from the village into the vineyards and the wooded hills beyond, with views back over the Thermenregion toward the Vienna Woods. The rhythm of the place follows the wine calendar: quiet in winter, alive with blossom in spring, busy with outdoor tastings through summer, and centred on the harvest each autumn.

Sooß keeps close to its agricultural roots, with its cellars still in use. That working character, more than any single sight, is what defines the village.
