Morges lies on the northern shore of Lake Geneva, in the canton of Vaud. The town grew up around its medieval castle, Château de Morges. Each spring, the castle park fills with colour for the town's flower festival, when thousands of blooms appear across the grounds.
The lakeside promenade runs along the water, shaded by plane trees, with a small marina where boats are moored. Behind it, narrow streets in the old town open onto squares lined with cafés and small shops selling local cheese and wine. Through the year, the lake and the mountains across the water stay a steady backdrop to the town's quiet rhythm.
