The Mazzei family has grown vines and made wine here for generations, and the estate now anchors the hamlet's identity alongside the surrounding vineyards. Stone houses and farm buildings sit close together, with vine rows spreading out over the hills toward Siena. Cellars beneath the estate hold barrels of Chianti Classico and other Tuscan reds, and the estate's restaurant serves food built around the wines produced on site. The hamlet keeps its working character: wine here is grown, pressed, and aged, not just sold in a tasting room.
