Sant Marçal is a small settlement scattered across a shoulder of the Montseny massif, inside the Montseny natural park in Catalonia. Beech and oak forests cover the surrounding slopes. Around the village, stone masias — traditional Catalan farmhouses — stand among meadows.
A network of marked trails climbs from Sant Marçal toward the higher ridges of Montseny, crossing forest and open pasture as the massif rises steeply above the village. The natural park protects a wide range of plant and animal life across its altitude, from Mediterranean scrub on the lower slopes to beech forest near the summits.
The village itself is small: a church, a scatter of houses, and the surrounding woods. Its setting within Montseny, within reach of Barcelona, makes it a quiet base for forest walks and mountain air.
