Sobralinho.

Sobralinho is a small parish in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, on the north bank of the Tagus River, within the Lisbon district. The surrounding land is flat and low, part of the Lezíria do Tejo, the river plain where pastures and rice fields run toward the water. Wading birds gather along these wetlands, and the nearby Tagus estuary is known as a feeding ground for flamingos and storks during parts of the year.

The parish follows the rhythm of this agricultural plain. Houses sit low among open fields, and quiet farm roads connect scattered smallholdings to the riverbank. Vila Franca de Xira, close by, carries a long tradition of bull breeding and the campinos, the region's mounted herdsmen, marked each July with the Festa do Colete Encarnado.

Around Sobralinho, the countryside stays open and uncrowded, with flat views across the plain to the river. Daily life keeps close to old patterns of farming and grazing, set to the rise and fall of the tide.
