Rasun di Sopra is a quiet farming village at the entrance to the Val di Anterselva, a pristine Alpine valley in the heart of South Tyrol. The valley climbs to the famous Antholzer See, a turquoise mountain lake at over 1,600 meters, and hosts one of Europe's top biathlon venues at Anterselva di Sopra. The village itself has kept its authentic South Tyrolean character — old farmhouses with flower-filled balconies, a small Romanesque church, and family-run agriturismo farms producing speck, homemade cheeses, and apple juice. Hiking and cycling trails connect Rasun to the wider Plan de Corones area and the Dolomites. In winter, the valley transforms into a quiet cross-country skiing and snowshoeing destination. The bilingual German-Italian culture, hearty food, and dramatic mountain scenery make it an ideal retreat.
