Müritz.

Müritz is Germany's largest lake lying entirely within the country's borders, and it forms the centerpiece of Müritz National Park. Its shores are lined with beech forest and reed-fringed wetlands, opening in places onto wide stretches of moorland. Ospreys and cranes nest around the lake. Waren sits on the lake's northern shore, with a harbour, a market square, and the Müritzeum aquarium built around the park's aquatic life. Röbel keeps a smaller, quieter harbour on the lake's edge. Sailing boats cross the water through the warmer months, and a network of marked paths and cycling routes runs along the shoreline and through the surrounding forest, linking villages that have kept their old Mecklenburg character. Each autumn, migrating cranes gather over the lake in large numbers, drawing birdwatchers to the reed beds. Beyond the main lake, the national park protects a wider landscape of smaller lakes, bogs, and forest.
