Rab town is a spectacular medieval settlement on Rab island, instantly recognizable by its four distinctive bell towers rising above the old town. The settlement sits on a narrow peninsula, with stone streets climbing up the hillside past Romanesque churches and Gothic palaces. This architectural heritage reflects Rab's importance in Venetian times. The island is known for its diverse landscape – lush forests on one side, bare rocky cliffs on the other. Beyond history, Rab offers excellent sandy beaches, which are rare in Croatia, traditional festivals including medieval knight tournaments, and family-run restaurants serving island specialties and local wines.
