Unterdürnbach.

Unterdürnbach is a small wine village in the Weinviertel, Lower Austria's largest wine-growing region, set among gentle hills covered in vines. Life here follows the rhythm of the vineyard: pruning in late winter, flowering through early summer, and harvest in September, when the village cellars fill with the new vintage. Family-run wineries open for tastings, pouring Grüner Veltliner and other whites that have long defined the Weinviertel style. Several work from traditional Kellergassen, rows of half-buried cellar houses dug into the loess soil, built for pressing and storing wine and still used for that purpose.

Footpaths lead out from the village across the surrounding countryside, climbing low ridges that open onto views of vineyards and orchards. Life here follows the agricultural calendar, and the village stays closely tied to the land around it. Neighbouring wine towns add their own cellar streets and traditions, part of the same pattern of small wine communities found across the Weinviertel.
