Heldenberg is a memorial estate in the Weinviertel, built in the 19th century by Joseph Pargfrieder as a tribute to Austrian military history. Its grounds bring together a neo-classical memorial church, a crypt holding the remains of Field Marshal Joseph Radetzky, and rows of monuments to Austrian soldiers and commanders. A private military history museum on the estate displays uniforms, weapons and other historical items. The estate sits among the vineyards of the Weinviertel, Austria's largest wine region, known for Grüner Veltliner and other white wines. Visits to Heldenberg often combine the memorial grounds and museum with a stop at a nearby wine estate or cellar.
