Wine Tasting
Pulborough sits at the edge of the South Downs National Park, where chalk downland meets a low-lying river floodplain. The flat meadows below the village flood through much of the year, creating wet grassland used for grazing. Pulborough Brooks, a wetland reserve on the valley floor, is a noted birdwatching site through the seasons.
Above the floodplain, the ground rises toward chalk downland, where vineyards grow in soil suited to sparkling wine production. Local producers grow grape varieties used in English sparkling wine and hold tastings.
St Mary's Church stands at the centre of the village. Pubs and cafés nearby serve food from the surrounding farms. Footpaths from the village cross the Downs, linking Pulborough into the wider Sussex countryside.
