Suchacz is a small village on the southern shore of the Vistula Lagoon, in Poland's Warmia-Masuria region. Reed beds and shallow water line the shore, and the flat farmland behind the village opens onto wide views across the lagoon. Fishing shaped the place for generations, and small boats still work the shallow water close to shore.
The lagoon is the main reason to come: calm, shallow water suits slow boating, and the reed banks draw herons and other waterfowl through much of the year. Inland, farmland and patches of forest give walkers quiet paths away from the water. Local farms sell produce typical of the Warmia region.
