Großengersdorf sits in the Weinviertel, Lower Austria's wine country, where gentle hills carry rows of vines toward the horizon. The village has grown around wine for generations: family-run wineries press grapes into the crisp, mineral whites the region is known for, and cellar doors open for tastings through much of the year. Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling are common pours, often served in the local Heuriger style, alongside simple dishes of bread and cheese.
