Beaumont-en-Véron sits on the Véron plateau, framed by the Loire to the north and the Vienne to the south, in the Chinon wine region of the Centre-Val de Loire. The area gives its name to Chinon red wine, made from Cabernet Franc grapes grown on gravel and sand terraces above the rivers. Low stone farmhouses and wine estates spread across an open, quiet landscape of vineyards and orchards. The village is small, spread across several hamlets gathered around a parish church, close to the everyday rhythm of the vineyards around it. Harvest in September brings the fields to life, with pickers moving through the rows and presses running in the estates. Nearby Chinon and Candes-Saint-Martin draw more visitors, but Beaumont-en-Véron stays tied to its vineyards.
